Church Family Business Directory ~ If you're looking for an electrician to rewire your garage, a baker to help with your graduation party, or a contractor to build you a new home--why not work with someone that's part of your own church family? Here you'll find a list of some of the professionals right in our own congregation.
Classifieds ~ You can also browse our own church classifieds or post one of your own. There is a section for items being given away, items for sale, and items that you might be looking for but just can't find anywhere (maybe someone can give you a lead).
Home-based Business Contacts ~ With such a wide variety of interests, there's bound to be some fun home-based businesses among the members of our congregation. Perhaps you love scrapbooking or you've just lit your favorite scented candle for the last time, there might be someone just a phone call away that can help you restock your supply.
Starting note: To see what's been posted, you'll have to select "Show All" from the drop down box, then click "go."
The message board format proved the best way to allow registered families to post to www.wintersetcommunitychurch.org It’s a little tricky to understand at first, but with a little clicking around, you’ll get used to it. Here’s how to get started:
On the main page, click “My
Now, centered in each light-gray box, you’ll see the names of the topics: “Things for sale,” “Things for free,” “Does anybody have . . .?,” “Church family business directory,” and “Home-based businesses.”
The dark gray boxes have clickable text that will take you to a detailed description of the topic. So, for instance, you click on the blue text that says, “Business contacts.” It will take you to a new screen that says, “Human Interest Writer.” You can then click on that text to get a description of that person’s job description.
Now, say you want to add your own job listing. Click on the text above the drop-down box that says (in this example), “Post a New Topic in Business contacts Forum” Type your job title in the “subject” line, and then a description of your business and your contact information in the “message” box below. Hit “Post Message” and you’re all set. You will do this for classified ads etc. A confirmation message will be sent to your own email account from the wccsecretary@gmail.com address.
Since we haven’t seen this working live yet, we’ll likely bump into a few questions along the way. Feel free to email me and we’ll figure out a way to keep things flowing smoothly. For instance, you will likely need to send me an email to delete any information from the message board (say you sell your dining set and don’t need that item listed any longer or you decide to change from Mary Kay to Arbonne). We’ll just figure it out as we go!
