WCC Youth Sponsors

                Youth Pastor

I am Jay Bock, the full time Youth Pastor at WCC. I started working here 2 years ago fresh out of college and have really enjoyed tackling the challenges that come with learning how to do my job. I stay busy attending the students sporting events, concerts and activities, but with my free time I enjoy watching Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs and Jeopardy, or playing board games and doing crosswords with my girlfriend Rebecca. I play a number of musical instruments including tuba, guitar, bass guitar, harmonica and even a one man band that I built for a college talent show. I have always had an interest in doing some kind of community driven ministry, and have found my talents, interests and passions fit very nicely into student ministries here at Winterset Community Church.

Our Middle School sponsors working with the 5th and 6th grade students are Rebecca Foster and Donna Drey.

I am Rebecca Foster the teacher librarian at Winterset Elementary and Winterset Middle School.  I am working with the middle school youth group at WCC because I enjoy students of that age and like getting to know the kids in a different context than seeing them during the school day. I enjoy reading for both work and pleasure, doing crossword puzzles with Jay, and spending time with my four siblings and my parents.  My favorite foods are peanut butter and movie theater popcorn.  My favorite memory from high school youth group is teaching a girls' Bible study for elementary kids.

My name is Donna Drey.  I am 46 years old.  I am married to my very best friend, Dan, and we have three sons, Austin, Keith, and Marc. My favorite thing is being with my family.  We love to watch football, hike, and watch movies together.  I also love to decorate, landscape, and garden.  I would have to say that ice cream/Culver's concrete shake is one of our family's favorite foods.  Pizza, popcorn, and chocolate chip cookies are also regularly devoured at our home.  We also have two dogs, Winstrum and Frazier.  It is fun having them around to laugh and play with. I enjoy working with the youth and I think having a personal relationship with the Lord is the most important thing in life.  I want to see the kids begin that personal walk with the Lord while they are young.

Loretta Paulin works with our 7th and 8th grade Junior High students.

I am Loretta Paullin. I am 47 years old. I have been married to Bob for 29 years.  We have one son, Brad, who is 27 years old and lives in Des Moines. I work part time as an office nurse at Madison County Medical Associates.  In my free time I enjoy reading, sewing, and listening to music of all kinds.  I do not really have a favorite food, I just love to eat.  I help teach Promise Land Jr. and Promise Land.   I enjoy working with children of all ages, I find their honesty to be very enlightening.  My goal is to help to teach children about Christian Living and to show them you can have fun while learning.  One of my goals in life, is to enjoy every minute God gives me here on earth. ( As you may see, I'm just a kid at heart.)

Lance Livingston and Gregg Matlage work with the Senior High students.

My name is Lance Livingston.  I am an Iowa State graduate and work for Farmers Cooperative in Swine Business Development.  I enjoy sports, cooking, landscaping and spending time with my fiancé Nicole, family and friends.  I am involved with the high school youth group and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  I really enjoy working with the youth and getting to know each of the kids on an individual basis.  I want have an impact on students lives because I know these years are very formative.

I am Gregg Matlage, I am 48 years old and I work at the Winterset post office. I am married to my wife Leann and I have 3 daughters - Brooke, Paige and Whitney. Currently I assist Jay with the high school youth group. I have enjoyed playing video games since before any of the current high school students have been born, but I also enjoy getting to know the kids and learning about their families. I like to play and have fun, but I also like helping the kids learn about God. It is important for the youth to know they can have fun and still honor God.
