WCC Youth Newsletter- April 2010

Middle School-

It is so exciting to see how many of you keep showing up each week. We are consistently seeing numbers at or near 30 students! While I love seeing so many of you each week, it is important that you practice being respectful during youth group. When you all practice good behavior we have lots of fun and learn a lot along the way, but when you allow yourselves to get disruptive and disrespectful, it makes it hard on me and the rest of the group.

I never want people to be turned away from the group because other students are making it a discouraging place to be, nor do I want to discourage people who are being disruptive from continuing to be a part of the group. But, if individuals in this group continue to be a problem, we are going to have to start taking some difficult corrective measures.

Junior High-

I am excited to finish out the school year with you! I want to encourage you all to keep coming and inviting your friends and making this group grow so we can keep that momentum through the summer and into next year.

Make sure you look at the summer youth schedule- we have a lot of fun activities planned this year- your friends are always invited to be involved.

Senior High-

I have been encouraged with how this group has come together this year. You have impressed me with the way you have become a truly Christian community that people want to be a part of. As we race toward the end of the school year, again, I want to encourage you to continue coming to youth and bringing your friends.

I am excited about some of the events we have scheduled for this summer and some of the changes we are implementing- I am relying on you to make our summer events great.

Parents-

After Easter we started a brand new series on the life of King David. You can read about David starting in 1Samuel 16 and ending with his death in 1Kings 2. This is a perfect opportunity to learn about David yourself and encourage your kids to read about David too.

After a period of time focusing on his good attributes I will shift focus to some of his shortcomings and the ways David did not live up to the standards God has set for us. I hope to make this an encouraging series- reminding all of us that God is a God of grace and love even when we mess up in seemingly unredeemable ways.
