Women's Ministry
Women of Purpose is a vibrant ministry that is scripture based and Christ centered. We are committed to helping women discover the freedom they have in Christ, walking with Christ and encouraging and affecting the world of others.
WOP is divided into three branches of ministry in order to impact the women of WCC, the Winterset Community and beyond. In keeping with our church vision, Women of Purpose find ways to interact with God, each other, and our neighbor to God's glory. We will encourage study, service and fellowship from which lasting friendships and deep relationship with Christ can grow.
To grow in God, there's Sunday morning worship service ... WOP play an important role in serving at the WCC Cafe and making everyone who attends feel welcome.
Our Tuesday morning Women's Bible study gives us a chance to interact with each other while increasing our understanding of who God wants us to be (it's also a fun time of laughter, a safe time for tears, and a trustworthy place for prayer requests). We try to plan Girls Nights Out, keep a list of Bakers & Takers who take meals to families that have welcomed a new baby, lost a loved one, or are recovering from an illness or surgery, and then there is the fun "job" of celebrating weddings and new babies with special gifts.
One of our favorite ways to live in community with our neighbor is at our annual Women's Christmas Breakfast (you can read more about it on the next tab). Ladies from Madison County and beyond are invited for a morning of breakfast, music, guest speakers, and a celebration of the birth of Christ!
